Together, we can protect marine sanctuaries like Ningaloo, not only now but in years to come.
Ningaloo Reef is one of the Earth’s great ocean paradises.
A World Heritage listed marine sanctuary. A place whale sharks, turtles, manta rays and humpback whales call home. A place so many of us know and love. A place that for many, remains high on our bucket lists – ready to be explored when the world opens up once more.
But if we don't act now, this pristine reef may become a filthy wasteland. And our opportunity to see it will be gone.
Oil giant Woodside wants to dump a 2,529-tonne rusty piece of its old oil rig, full of plastic and toxic waste, right next to Ningaloo Reef.
They want to simply discard their rubbish and walk away.
We can’t let them get away with it.
The rusty mooring Woodside wants to dump at Ningaloo is just one of more than 1000 structures that will be abandoned around our coastline – from the tropical north to the Great Ocean Road – in the not too distant future.
If Woodside is allowed to just ditch their toxic waste right in the middle of this beautiful iconic paradise, we’ll risk losing more than Ningaloo. We risk losing countless marine habitats around Australia.
Your support makes such a powerful difference and we urgently need your help to stop this atrocity and stop toxic oil and gas waste from being dumped all around Australia.
Will you show your support with a donation today?
Our Investigations Team are pushing for a new generation of national environment laws that genuinely protect the places and wildlife we love. But we can’t do it without your help. This critical work is wholly funded by donations from you, and our generous community.
You are a vital part of our mission, and your passion and generosity make our work possible.
